Kanye West has stated that he would like to be referred to as “Ye,” instead of “Kanye.” He says that this helps him to feel more connected to the inner peace he desires, as the word “Ye” is a reference to the shortened version of “Yahweh,” which is a Hebrew term for God. He also believes that it allows him to be more creative when making music, as it helps him to embraced a certain level of abstractness.
