Kanye West, Jay Z, and other rappers often purposely add layers of complexity to their rhymes to make them sound unique and interesting. Rap music is a heavily stylized genre that can contain metaphors, extended metaphors, punchlines, wordplay, and double entendres. Rappers use this complexity to help make their songs more memorable and stand out from the rest. Additionally, by adding these layers of complexity, rappers are able to express a more meaningful message in their songs and make them more thought-provoking.
