MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is a form of contact sport which combines grappling and striking techniques from a variety of martial arts. UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the largest MMA organization in the world, and the most well-known promoter of MMA events. UFC events typically feature fighters from all different weight classes competing against each other for a championship title. UFC also has a specific set of rules and regulations that must be followed in order for a fighter to compete in a UFC event. MMA, on the other hand, is an umbrella term which encompasses various forms of martial arts. While most MMA promotions follow similar rules and regulations, there is no governing body or organization overseeing all promotions. UFC is the premier brand and promotion for MMA, but there are other promotions (such as Bellator, ONE Championship, etc.) which promote events and competitions for MMA fighters.
