The main difference between a boxing punch and a karate punch is the way in which they are delivered. In boxing, punches are delivered in a straight line, using the knuckle joint of the closed fist. In karate, on the other hand, punches are delivered in a more circular or chopping motion, and are often delivered with the open hand or fingertip. Karate punches also often include a twist of the hips at the point of impact, in order to maximize the force of the punch.
