There have been many famous rappers who have grown up wealthy, including Eminem, Drake, Dr. Dre, and Jay-Z. Additionally, some rap artists, such as Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, grew up in relatively affluent households. Rappers in the hip hop genre come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and though some have come from poverty and struggling neighborhoods, others, such as those listed above, have grown up with more money and resources than the majority of their peers.
