To record something from a smart TV, you will need to connect an external device such as a DVD recorder, VHS recorder, or Digital Video Recorder (DVR). The external device will need to have inputs that match the outputs from your smart TV. For example, if your smart TV has an HDMI output, you will need to choose a device with an HDMI input. Once the device is connected, you can record whatever is playing on the TV.
